Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Perform “Over You” In Honor Of The Victims Of The Tornadoes That Hit Oklahoma. On Monday, May 20, some deadly tornadoes ripped through Oklahoma leaving an enormous number of people without homes, people missing and some fatalities. While the worst of the tragedy hit Moore, Okla, many other cities and communities were hit by these devastating storms. On Tuesday night, May 21, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert performed a special version of their award winning and touching song, “Over You,” at the beginning of The Voice. A special message ran along the bottom of the screen, urging viewers to donate to Red Cross to help the state of Oklahoma during this horrific time. The performance was beautiful and I believe it was the best Lambert has ever sounded singing it. Country Music News Blog is based out of Oklahoma, and is HOME to us. Their are still many things that can be done for the victims of this tornado and like the rest of the country, we encourage everyone to what they can and keep those affected in your thoughts and prayers. Country Wins Big On TV Shows

Trace Adkins and Kellie Pickler Dominate On National TV Shows. In less than a week, two of country music’s own have taken the top spots, winning the ultimate prize on two national TV shows. On Sunday night, May 19, Trace Adkins become the winner of this season’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. Adkins was representing the American Red Cross and was able to raise more than $1.5 million for Red Cross. Just last night, May 21, Kellie Pickler and her partner won this season of Dancing with the Stars. She danced her heart out this season and took the mirror ball trophy home! To say that these two made country music and country music fans proud would be an understatement! Congratulations to them both!

Brian Davis Has Been Invited To Open Up For Aaron Lewis On The 2013 Jägermeister Country Tour. Brian Davis has been invited to be the opening act for the 2013 Jägermeister Country Tour this summer. Davis will be opening for Aaron Lewis now through June 23 where he will play his last show in Evansville, IN. “This is going to be the kickoff to a rocking summer being asked out on the 2013 Jägermeister Tour with my buddy Aaron Lewis,” Davis said. “I can’t think of a better way to continue my touring year having just gotten off the road with Brantley Gilbert and now heading out with Aaron Lewis! George Strait Releases His Latest Album, Love Is Everything. Yesterday, May 14, George Strait released his latest studio album, Love Is Everything. The album includes his current single and latest #1, “Give It All We Got Tonight.” I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it and as George would say, “it’s pretty risqué.” As some of you may know, there has been a huge effort made by fans and radio to get this single to #1 on the charts, making it George’s 60th #1 hit for his 60th birthday. Well 60 for 60 worked! The song is currently sitting at #1 on real-time charts and if it can hold that position until Saturday, it will become official. Love Is Everything has plenty more great songs on it and I’m sure George will surpass that 60 mark with one of them.
