Alan Jackson recently released his new single, “So You Don’t Have To Love Me Anymore,” to radio and now we have the music video to go along with it! The single is from the forthcoming debut album from the joint venture between ACR (Alan’s Country Records) and EMI Records Nashville.

This song…what to say about this song…well, IT IS AMAZING! They say the best songs are ones people can relate to and I know that there are plenty of country music listeners out there that can relate to this one. He talks about making it easier for a person to get over another, if only that happened in real life! I really think that this song is going to be another hit for Jackson!

The video was directed by award-winning Steven Goldmann and shot at Coney Island in New York City. Watch it here now!!!!

He is a major part of the country music world and has a major part of my heart!

I grew up listening to his classics “Little Bitty“, “Wanted“, “Midnight In Montgomery“, “Don’t Rock The Jukebox” and many more including this one!
On November 6th, Alan Jackson was present for the unveiling ceremony of the Music City Walk of Fame through which he was being honored for his success in the industry. In true fashion, he was humorous and heartfelt. With three CMA Entertainer of the Year Awards, 34 #1 singles, and more the 50 million albums sold, it is refreshing to see such humility from a country legend. I know this is maybe a couple weeks behind, but its worth recognizing someone of Jackson’s caliber more than once. You can see his induction speech below!

Alan Jackson Inducted Into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

On Sunday, October 11th, 2011, Alan Jackson was officially inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame at the 41st Anniversary Dinner and Induction Ceremony. The ceremony was held at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in Downtown Nashville, and Jackson was inducted by Capitol Records Nashville President and CEO and long-time friend Mike Dungan. In true down to earth form, Jackson shared some insight into his personal writing inspirations.

“Denise and I packed up a U-haul and moved to Nashville and I didn’t know a publisher from a producer. I was stupid enough not to be scared. I have written songs about the ups and downs of married life, songs for the working man, a song about when my daddy died, when my first child left home – I just write whatever I feel. I never wrote a song to get a Grammy or Country Music Award. All of these things are just life and that is what country music has always been to me.” -Alan Jackson

As a tribute to Jackson and his achievements, Taylor Swift and The Wrights performed some of his hits. Swift took on “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” (which Jackson just performed live in Washington D.C. on the anniversary of September 11th). The Wrights performed a medley including “Good Time,” “Remember When,” “Chattahoochee,” “Don’t Rock The Jukebox” and “Here In The Real World.”

Jackson has written or co-written 24 of his 35 #1 hits. Well done and congrats Alan Jackson!!

The Grand Ole Opry will be making a return to television with a line-up of six star-studded episodes of “Opry Live” on GAC this fall. The first of the six episodes, and 80th birthday commemoration for George Jones, will be airing on October 4th and will include performances by Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Ann Womack and others.

Other episodes will include performances by a string of country favorites like Trace Adkins, Lauren Alaina, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Ronnie Dunn, Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes, Randy Travis, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood and more. Airdates and details on the other five shows will be announced at a later date.

So, make sure you catch the first episode on October 4th and stay tuned for more details. I mean if you can’t make it to Nashville to see these types of performances live, I guess the next best thing would be watching them in the comfort of your own home.

Alan Jackson has released his latest music video for “Long Way To Go“. The video was directed by Steven Goldmann and was shot at the Square Grouper bar in Jupiter, Florida. Jackson never seems to let us down when it comes to country music mini-movies. This one in particular is full of rain, margaritas, girls in swimsuits, poker, and a mariachi band…what else do you need?!

“I guess I’m lucky – we get to shoot in some pretty cool places, whether it’s down on a beach or on a boat or a river or wherever. I’m good friends with the guy that owns the bar, so we thought we’d take the band and go down and shoot there.” – Alan Jackson

Alan Jackson has released his new single, “Long Way To Go”, to country radio! It is a fun song just in time for summer, just exactly what we like to hear from AJ.

“Seems like every time you turn around lately, there’s just something heavy going on in the world, so I felt like singing something that was kind of light and fun,” Jackson said. “I hope some people like it.”

He expects to release the album later this fall. Until then we have his classics (and some of my favorites) “Chattahoochee”, “Gone Country”, “Country Boy”, “Www.memory”, “Midnight In Montgomery”, “Pop A Top”, and “She’s Got The Rhythm” to keep us occupied!
