iHEARTMEDIA syndicated “THE BOBBY BONES SHOW” host BOBBY BONES is planning to launch a national radio show featuring a female-only playlist that will air on more than 100 radio stations. That news, according to an article in the TENNESSEAN. BONES is quoted in the piece, saying, “I’ll be really obnoxious about it and just cram it down the radio station … People aren’t embracing things, and they are embracing other things too fast … It’s important for fairness. I want everybody to have an equal shot.” The news about BONES’ upcoming show was part of the TENNESSEAN’s larger examination of female Country songs charting. The paper cited data saying the percentage of purely female Country songs has dipped 13% since 2016, part of an all-genre drop with female airplay. In 2017, for example, the TENNESSEAN says females comprised only 16.8% of popular artists on the charts — a six-year low. Read the entire piece here.

BOBBY BONES AND THE RAGING IDIOTS’ THE CRITICS GIVE IT 5 STARS DEBUTS AT NO. ONE ON BILLBOARD’S COMEDY CHART Feel-Good Album Also Lands In Top 5 Of Country Album Chart Photo Credit: Chris Hollo / Grand Ole Opry 2016 Nashville, TN – March 29, 2016 – Bobby Bones And The Raging Idiots’, the musical comedy group comprised of Bobby Bones and Producer Eddie from iHeartMedia’s The Bobby Bones Show, first full-length album, THE CRITICS GIVE IT 5 STARS is the No. one comedy album and in the Top 5 of Billboard’s Country Album Chart. In an overwhelming release week for the duo, following the album’s release on March 18, they headed across the country to meet fans for a series of CD signings that saw fans in their thousands show up to meet and celebrate release of the comedy album with the pair. Hot on the heels of their return to Nashville, having just played a SOLD-OUT album release concert there last week, the Black River Entertainment recording artists then headed to the Grand Ole Opry to make their debut on Friday (3/25.) The group made an impression on the first-time crowd with a spirited version of fan-favorite “If I Was Your Boyfriend” and a rousing rendition of “We Can’t Stand Each Other” with fellow Opry performer Lindsay Ell joining in on the duet. Fans can catch The Raging Idiots’ live show again when they head back out on the road later next month including a hometown area show for Bones in Hot Springs, AR on 4/22 as well as stops in Fort Lauderdale, FL (Tortuga Music Festival on 4/16) and Biloxi, MS (4/23.) “We’re so happy people bought our record,” said Bobby Bones and Producer Eddie. “That means hopefully we will get to make another one! So crazy.” Produced by Nick Autry and Bobby Bones THE CRITICS GIVE IT 5 STARS is proving to live up to its tongue-in-cheek title as Sounds Like Nashville raves that “for those in need of a mid-day pick-me-up the album more than succeeds…Bones’ ability as a songwriter is undeniable.” “Packed with collaborations with A-list country stars” (Billboard) the group’s superstar friends Kelsea Ballerini, Lindsay Ell, Charles Kelley, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood and more are featured on the 13 song, side-splitting disc that takes satirical and deliberate cues from today’s popular music. Bobby Bones, who recently garnered his second ACM award for “National On-Air Personality of the Year” and is best known as “country’s biggest radio star,” (CBS News) has proven to be one of the genre’s most influential tastemakers , breaking some of country music’s freshest talent. The host of iHeartMedia’s The Bobby Bones Show reaches 4.8 million weekly listeners on nearly 100 stations.
