The night was full of emotional speeches and intimate musical performances, with over $200k in proceeds raised to benefit new music technology programs in public high schools both locally and nationwide.

The 35+ date tour, presented by AEG Presents, will kick off March 6, 2020 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN and conclude October 31, 2020 at Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA. The tour will also include a stop at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden.

Dan + Shay Set To Release Self-Titled Album June 22nd

WARNER BROS./WAR’s DAN + SHAY will release their new, self-titled “DAN + SHAY” album on FRIDAY, JUNE 22nd. The 11-track project will include their current single, “Tequila,” as well as the just-released “Speechless,” for which the duo dropped a romantic video today (5/18) featuring each of their real-life weddings. Also included on the album will be “Alone Together,” “All To Myself,” and “Keeping Score,” which features KELLY CLARKSON. The duo’s DAN SMYERS and SHAY MOONEY each either had a hand in writing or co-writing ten of the eleven tracks; SMYERS also co-produced the album alongside longtime collaborator, WMN EVP/A&R SCOTT HENDRICKS. “Our first two albums helped us build an incredible and super-loyal fan base, so we knew it was our responsibility to them to put out the best music we could on this record,” said DAN + SHAY. “Most importantly, we wanted to deliver a project that would satisfy the people who got us where we are in the first place. Where we are musically and in our personal lives is different than where we were when this all started, which makes this album unique while still being true to who we are.”

As Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney) teased on social media last week, fans are just days away from a taste of the duo’s brand new music. “Tequila,” their first offering in nearly a year, will be available to radio and all streaming partners this Wednesday, January 10. Co-written by Smyers alongside Jordan Reynolds and Nicolle Galyon, the reflective single is much more than just your typical drinking song. The breakout duo are amping up the momentum from an exceptional 2017, which saw them amass more than 230 million streams, sell out shows in four international territories and earn a half-dozen award nominations – all between celebrating two marriages and a baby. The first new country duo in SoundScan recorded history to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart, Dan + Shay collected their second RIAA Platinum certification in 2017 for “From The Ground Up,” the first single off of their sophomore Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville release Obsessed. Soon after they notched their third consecutive No. 1 song with the Gold-certified “How Not To.” Dan + Shay are currently in the studio working on their upcoming project, due later this year.

5x Academy of Country Music-nominated duo’s Obsessed Tour makes unforgettable stop at Mother Church With fans singing along from the very first word, Academy of Country Music-nominated duo Dan + Shay celebrated their first appearance at historic Ryman Auditorium with a raucous show that left the sold-out crowd breathless for more. The show, part of the rising duo’s spring Obsessed Tour, was a crowning moment for Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, who moved to Nashville five years ago to chase their musical obsession. “This is just the best night of my entire life,” Mooney told screaming fans at Nashville’s most iconic live music venue. “I had this dream, and Shay had this dream, too,” Smyers said, “and we moved here because we wanted to do this. … If it weren’t for our fans sharing our music and spreading the word … we wouldn’t be here.” Much of the sold-out crowd stood for the entirety of the performance, joining in harmony to tracks like current single, “How Not To,” “When I Pray For You,” a ballad the duo penned for March 1’s major motion picture The Shack, recent No. 1 “From the Ground Up” from the 2016 album Obsessed to the duo’s first No. 1, “Nothin’ Like You” and their Platinum-certified hit “19 You + Me” among the 18-song set. The critical response to the performance was as exuberant as the fans’. “The duo famous for their tight harmonies… perform with a joy and fire that is contagious,” raved Cindy Watts of The Tennessean. “Dan + Shay are an undeniable force headed nowhere but up.” Taste of Country‘s Billy Dukes echoed that sentiment, noting the “electric” set “prove[s] they’re at the head of the class” and their “commitment to their fans’ concert experience… will ensure it’s a long, long ride.” The members of the “velvet-voiced duo” (Rolling Stone Country) are up for two awards at the 52nd annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 2 in Las Vegas. Dan + Shay were nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year as well as New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year recently and will perform around the awards when Vegas goes country. It’s the group’s fourth consecutive ACM nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year. The duo’s latest single from Obsessed, “How Not To,” was one of the night’s biggest singalong moments (see the video). A few well-timed covers like Jon Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name,” The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” and CeeLo Green’s “Forget You” turned the night into a dancealong. Raucous fans brought the boys out for a three-song encore that stretched to 30 minutes, concluding an amazing night. “We just sold out the Ryman tonight,” Mooney said. “That’s insane.” The duo’s Obsessed Tour continues Friday in Knoxville, Tennessee, with dates across the U.S. and Canada through the spring.
