Today marks the start of one weekend that I am very sad to be missing! The Southern Ground Music & Food Festival begins today, Friday, October 21 and ends Sunday, October 23 in Charleston, South Carolina. This 3-day event will be full of fabulous food and even better music!

The Zac Brown Band will be featured as the main act each night! Tonight, the first night, they will be doing a special cover set which is more than likely going to blow fans away!

The celebrity chefs on staff are Rusty Hamlin, Sean Brock, Mike Lata, RJ Cooper and David Guas. Zac Brown Band’s new video for “Keep Me In Mind” has an optimistic out-on-the-road-wind-in-my-hair vibe. It utilizes live concert footage in an awe inspiring outdoor amphitheater, road shots of motorcyclists doing their thing on the highway, and behind the scenes-esque footage of the band and associates. It’s a well put together compilation that, although it doesn’t match up with the story in the lyrics, does pair well with the instrumentals of the song. Take a minute and check it out!

CMT will honor Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley as the top artists of the year. CMT Artists Of The Year will premier December 13 at 9:00pm ET/PT and will last 90 minutes.

The honorees were chosen by ranking them based on the following criteria: sales (physical albums, digital albums and single downloads); country radio airplay based on spins; concert grosses as a headliner or co-headliner; and activity on cmt.com (video streams, searches, and artist page views). The rankings were then compiled to identify the leading performers across the four categories cumulatively.

Zac Brown is a proud pappa again as his fourth daughter Joni was brought into the world on Wednesday. Joni joins her sisters Justice, Lucy, and Georgia to give pappa Zac a house overflowing with beautiful young women! Congratulations!

Zac Brown was no less than shocked when Alan Jackson showed up at a Nashville concert and presented him with the keys to a 1966 white Cadillac El Dorado convertible. The classic car was a special gift from Alan for being featured on Zac’s current single “As She’s Walking Away”.

Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Lady Antebellum were all celebrated at a special event last night in Nashville as CMT recognized their contributions to the country music industry in 2010. Zac Brown Band is taking the party home as they get ready to ring in the New Year in Atlanta, GA! Tickets went on sale this morning for what will certainly be one of the biggest New Year’s Eve parties in country music. This is the first in what they hope will become a great annual tradition of living it up in the town that built them.
