This Christmas season saw the first annual “Honky Tonk Christmas Tour” featuring Curtis Grimes (Texas “Entertainer and Vocalist of the Year” with 13 #1 hit singles), David Adam Byrnes (2021 Texas Country Music Awards “Male Vocalist of the Year Nominee” with 5 consecutive #1 hit singles in Texas), and a host of friends. Randy Travis is surprising fans with the release of a new Christmas song from the vault titled, “There’s a New Kid In Town.” This song, written by Keith Whitley, Curly Putman and Don Cook, will be featured on the upcoming remastered version of his classic Christmas album An Old Time Christmas, due out November 19. Originally released in 1989, the album is certified Gold by the RIAA and is the first Christmas record Travis ever released. In addition to “There’s a New Kid In Town,” fans will receive two additional never-before-heard songs from the vault.
