CMT Music Awards 2012 Hosts

Toby Keith and Kristen Bell Host 2012 CMT Music Awards.

Well, it looks like Toby Keith has been tapped for host of the 2012 CMT Music Awards! That makes complete and total sense, especially with the wild popularity of his crowd favorite “Red Solo Cup” still going strong! What makes less sense is his co-host, Kristen Bell. Bell is a talented and funny actress…but she has no connection to country music…what so ever. So, not entirely sure how she was chosen.

So, that statement isn’t super helpful in trying to figure out the reasoning behind their choices, but figured I’d give it to you anyway. I’m not too worried though. The show already has a pretty great performance line-up, and no doubt Keith will do what he can to keep things good and country.

This is a fan voted show, and the voting is open NOW…through June 4th. The five finalists for Video of the Year will be announced at the beginning of the show and you will be able to vote at CMT.com, CMT mobile, on the CMT Insider app and via text message throughout the live telecast (ET/CT only) to determine winner.

The 2012 CMT Music Awards will air LIVE simultaneously on CMT stations and online, Wednesday June 6th at 8/7c!
