Garth Brooks Supports Teachers Rock

Garth Brooks Added to “Teachers Rock” Concert!

Garth Brooks has been added to a long list of celebrities from musicians to actors who will participate in the “Teachers Rock” concert co-sponsored by Walmart and set to air on CBS. Brooks joins other country singers, Carrie Underwood and Dierks Bentley in the evenings line-up.

The concert is intended to highlight and honor teachers across America in their educational efforts. Besides the country music guests, the event will include personal reflections by celebs from pop to rock music, like Adam Levine, Usher and Jack Black and to Hollywood stars like Jennifer Garner and Morgan Freeman…because teachers impact everyone!

Additionally, the benefit concert will feature scenes from Walden Media’s upcoming motion picture “Won’t Back Down,” starring Academy Award nominees Viola Davis and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The two actresses portray two determined mothers, one a teacher, who are fighting tirelessly to transform their children’s failing inner-city school.

The special will air LIVE right in time for the new school year on Friday, August 17 from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. at 8/7c (8-9 p.m. ET/PT).
