Gwyneth Paltrow – Country Song

Written by: WhiskeyChick On July - 27 - 2010

Gwyneth Paltrow as a country star?

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is no stranger to singing roles, as we can all remember from the karaoke-inspired film “Duets”, but now she’s entering a new arena with her release of “Country Song”. The track is one of many from the upcoming film by the same title, in which she co-stars alongside Tim McGraw, Garrett Hedlund, and Leighton Meester. Expect to see this on the big-screen December 22nd, just in time for Christmas. Take a listen!

  2. Angel Said,

If this version is for movie and she needs accent -it is good but not great. I like the lyrics much more than the vocals.

. But one thing I hate is people who put on fake country accents for a radio single release -

Gwyneth Paltrow does not belong in country music. She is on record agreeing with Obama that this country has so much to be ashamed of and apologize for. She has no respect for the love of country that most country music lovers hold dear. She has no respect for hard working middle Americans. A lot of people can sing, but to be a country singer, you’ve got to BELIEVE what you’re singing! I will make my views know to my local stations, and hope that her country music career ends with this movie.

Nothing special, I think she should stick with the acting and leave the country singing to the real women of country. Especially since she thinks Obama was correct in appoligizing for our country that has fed and protected most countries of the world. The American men and women have lost their lives for people like her to be free.

  6. Brian Said,

Gwyneth sounds great. Good for her and her support of the President. We live in America folks and everyone has a right to have an opinion. That is the beauty of it, and I think this blog focuses on music. Would be nice if we could keep within that framework. Lets smile and have some fun. I’m proud of Gwyneth, my country and country music. God Bless.

  7. Kristin Said,

Wow, Gwyneth is fabulous! I was blown away by the depth and the power of her voice. For a non-Southerner she does a wonderful job (and then some) with her accent. Her voice and her delivery sound as professional as any current chart topping Nashville entertainer around today. It would have been interesting to have put this song out under a fictitious name in order to have seen the “authentic” response to the song without all of the political prejudice. No doubt, comments would have been much more approving. How sad and more than a bit ironic that many of those who wave the flag and profess love of this country and our freedoms are often the very ones who want to censor others who doesn’t agree with them. Saying she doesn’t belong in country music simply because she agrees with our president is as ignorant as saying that other country group didn’t belong because they disagreed with our former president. We need to reunite as a country and stop all of the bickering. Let’s show some humility and learn to work together to tackle the serious problems this nation is dealing with. Good luck, Gwyneth, and well done!

  8. Greg Said,

I have to say that she did a great job with this song. She is put into many positions such as with her acting requiring her to sing. You did a great job singing and looking forward to much more. Keep up the great performances.

It’s no secret that over the past few years, the Superbowl and its media extravaganza has become just as much about the ads that air during its prime airtime as it is about the actual game.
