New Kansas City Country Music Festival

First-Ever Flatlands Country Music Festival To Be Held September In Kansas. Marquee Events and Sporting Club announced last week a new country music and camping festival to be hosted at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas. The event, entitled Flatlands Country Music Festival, will take place from September 12-14. Luke Bryan and Toby Keith have been tapped to headline the inaugural festival. Rand Levy of Marquee is promoting Flatlands in partnership with Sporting Club, the ownership group for Sporting Park. Levy is owner of WE Fest, the largest country music and camping festival in the United States. He and his partners have long been interested in bringing the popular event concept into a new market. “When we were first approached to help create a new country music festival in Kansas City, we were blown away by the stadium and the potential for this market,” Levy said. “We’re very confident both the artists and our audience will have an incredible experience at Flatlands.” Bryan will headline on Friday, September 13 and Keith will be the featured performer the following night. Additional artists confirmed include Rodney Atkins, Kevin Fowler, J.T. Hodges, Love and Theft, Darius Rucker and Thompson Square. The Charlie Daniels Band will headline a free concert on Thursday, September 12 in the Sprint Plaza, an area directly adjacent to the stadium bowl. “We are thrilled to debut the festival with such an amazing lineup of country music stars,” said Andy Tretiak, Chief Marketing Officer of Sporting Club. “This will be a momentous event in Kansas City and Sporting Park is the perfect venue to serve as host.” Tickets and camping passes for the first annual Flatlands Country Music Festival went on sale Friday, February 15 at 10 a.m. CST. Tickets can be purchased by visiting ticketmaster.com. Tickets start at only $99 for the entire music festival. Passes for camping and parking may also be purchased immediately.
