Brad Paisley Announces New Album Title, Wheelhouse. Brad Paisley stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight to perform his current single “Southern Comfort Zone”, and also took a second to make an important announcement. Paisley let the viewing audience know the title of his upcoming album which drops April 9th this year! The new album title is (drum roll please!), Wheelhouse. He told Kimmel that this new album is all about “leaving you comfort zone”! If “Southern Comfort Zone” is any indication we can certainly expect a lot from this new album! John Corbett Releases Album & Announces Tour Dates. Some of you might not have heard of John Corbett the musician, but trust me (especially the ladies), you have heard of him! He is the tall, very attractive gent who played Aidan in the HBO series Sex and the City and Ian from My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Now that you know who I’m talking about, some of you are probably thinking, “oh, here is another actor trying out the music scene,” but that is not the case with Corbett. Music has always been a big chunk of his life, unlike acting. His mother bought him his first guitar when he was seven or eight, and he’s been playing ever since. He loves music and has a special passion for Texas music in particular. This new album, Leaving Nothin’ Behind, came together with the help of Jon Randall Stewart, a longtime Guy Clark collaborator. Stewart wrote or co-wrote 7 out of 10 songs on the album and co-produced it with Gary Paczosa. When asked what he does to prove those wrong who think he is just an actor dabbling in music, Corbett says, “I don’t do anything. I play the show. I already win the battle when I come out onstage, if they haven’t seen us before, because they have such low expectations.” Be looking for Leaving Nothin’ Behind on iTunes January 29 and in stores February 5. His tour kicks off February 24 . Find dates and locations lined out so far, below! John Corbett, 2013 Tour Dates. February 24 – Sellersville Theater 1894, Sellersville, PA February 26 – Iron Horse, Northhampton, MA February 27 – B.B. Natalie Maines To Release New Solo Album, Mother, May 7th! Natalie Maines will be releasing brand new music this year in the form of her new solo album, Mother! The new record promises to have a rock vibe, inspired in part by iconic British rock group Pink Floyd and will release on May 7th. The new record was produced by Ben Harper whom Natalie performed with live more than once earlier this year. Maines’ cover of the Pink Floyd song, “Mother“, will be available via iTunes as early as January 15th as it is featured on the soundtrack for new documentary, West of Memphis, chronicling the harrowing story of the West Memphis three. Now, just because Maines is releasing a solo project doesn’t mean the Dixie Chicks are gone for good or at all. The trio, still the top selling female group of any genre of all time, will be performing at the 2013 Craven Country Jamboree! Watch Natalie Maines and Ben Harper Perform “Mother” Live.
Lady Antebellum Heads Back to the Studio to Work On Fourth Album! Lady Antebellum absolutely blew me away with their 2011 release, Own The Night! So, I am thrilled to report that this unstoppable trio is headed back to the studio to work on a fourth album. Lady A’s Charles Kelly recently gave CountryWeekly.com the whole scoop! “We’re working on our fourth record right now. We’re about halfway through the process and it’s going good. We don’t really have an end date; we’re just going to try to take as much time as we can. We’re going to hammer it out until we get it right.” Charles Kelly As much as we love, love, love their sound and all the music they’ve released so far, it sounds like Lady A might be ready to try out some new stuff! “It’s going to be an important record for us, as a band and artistically, as we try to do something different. I think we’re going to make it a bit more of a tempo record. More of a roll-down-the-windows record. I’m looking forward to that.” -Charles Kelly There’s nothing I like more than listening to new music while riding around with the windows down! I’m excited they’re trying something new, and I can’t wait to hear the new tunes! In the meantime, get in the holiday spirit with Lady Antebellum with their Christmas album OnThis Winter’s Night and be sure to check out their music video for “A Holly Jolly Christmas“.
